April 27, 1916: "Mr. Benham has accepted a position as forest ranger for the summer. Monday, of this week, he started work on a trail and phone line to the top of Mt. Summit where he will establish a lookout station. This mountain is about eight miles south of town." (Williams News)
May 17, 1917: "Dennis Harrington, secondary lookout at Summit mountain, was taken down to his station by ranger Christensen and wife, to be initiated into his new position." (Williams News)
