Greenlee County Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest 3N-29E-36
July 21, 1922: "Incidents occur occasionally that help lookout men in keeping track of the flight of time. Some weeks ago a bank robber was pursued to the Blue Lookout on the Apache and shot by the sheriff's force at the guard cabin. Not long after, two bears combatted a bull just above this cabin and came off victorious, and now the fire guard has killed the two bears and is acknowledged hero." (California District News Letter)
1933: An Aermotor MC-24 lookout with a 31-foot 6-inch tower was constructed.
