February 20, 1914: "Another sky high lookout station will be built this summer on Kendrick Mountain and connected up with the Forest Supervisor's office by telephone." (The Coconino Sun)
September 17, 1914: "The Forest Service will build a lookout house on the top of the Kendrick Mts. the latter part of this month." (Williams News)
July 7, 1922: "Malcolm Boyett is the lookout on Kendrick Mountain. Malcolm reports that the snow on the top of the Mountain is still about 3 feet deep--too deep to go to the spring for water, so Malcolm melts snow to get water for his household use. On these warm days we wish Malcolm would send us down just a little snow." (Williams News)
June 23, 1948: "Phil Harris of California is stationed on the lookout on Kendrick Mountain this season." (Arizona Daily Sun)
July 24, 1959: "The Forest Service plans to erect a lookout tower atop 10,400-foot Kendrick Mountain. This will be the highest point of the forest's lookout system, and construction of an access road will be a major undertaking." (Arizona Daily Sun)
