September 15, 1921: "The Forest Service trail through Monument and Chilicoot Canyons to Carrizozo Lookout is nearing completion. This trail will not only make more accessible a large area of the Forest, but will be of material benefit to the stockmen in moving their herds to and from the mountain ranges." April 19, 1923: "The field work is in charge of 10 rangers, and early in May, 16 extra patrolmen will be added. They will be stationed at White mountain, Tucson mountain, Baca ranch, Block ranch, Gavalin tower, Wofford tower, Wayne tower, Hay canyon, Mayhill, Cadwallader ranch, Bluewater, Sacramento lookout, Carrissa tower, Weed and Soldier Springs."
