June 20, 1940: "The CCC camp of 200 boys at Centennial, west of Laramie, will move to the Esterbrook camp, south of Douglas, the first of July, Forest Ranger Art Fawcett was advised.

August 6, 1952: "The Laramie Peak division, which includes the Labonte District, one of the lightning belts across the Medicine Bow National Forest, has burst into flames five times in the last four days.
Last night lightning also temporarily damaged the radio of the Esterbrook lookout tower, stopping communications until repairs had been made." (Casper Star-Tribune)
