June 1930: "SOLDIERS TO MAN LOOKOUT STATION. The Commanding Officer at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, has agreed to establish a detachment of from two to three men for observation purposes on Huachuca Peak. The District Ranger is to do the training and the detachment is expected to remain on the peak until July 15 - if the members do not desert." (Six Twenty-Six) (Region 6 monthly newsletter)
