September 6, 1913: "Roc Pack, Thomas Woolstenhulm, Joseph Vaughn and Thompson Parke have been up Reed's (Reids) Peak, preparing a pasture for a lookout station. A little later some rangers will be stationed there in the house prepared for them, to watch for forest fires." (Morgan County News)
September 5, 1935: "At the summit on the divide, a trail is marked which leads to the forest fire look-out station on top of the Bald Mountain. From this station on a clear day most of the Wasatch range and Uintah mountain system may be seen." (The Evening Herald - Provo)
