December 25, 1907: "Since the 1st of August, 1907, there has been constructed 21 miles of telephone line on the Medicine Bow (Colorado) National forest. Nine miles of this line extends from Estes park postoffice to the Long's Peak inn, at the foot of Long's peak. This line is now being extended to Ward, Colorado, and will be completed in the course of a few weeks. A branch line will run to the top of Long's peak which is to be used as a lookout station for fires." (Fort Collins Courier)
