May 23, 1957: "Orlan Johnson, Forest Service lookout stationed at Reed's Peak in the Black Range was released from Hillcrest General Hospital today.
Johnson suffered a fractured jaw and severe spinal bruises when thrown from a horse at his fire lookout station Saturday. He will return to light duty until he has recuperated." (The Deming Headlight)
